Updating Patient Disposition
In this tutorial, you will learn how to update your patient’s disposition.
What is Disposition?
The disposition refers to the final outcome of the patient, indicating whether it was released, died in care, transferred to another site, etc.
Updating Your Patient’s Disposition
Step 1
Visit https://www.wrmd.org/signin and log into your account using the username and password that you registered with.
Step 2
Go to the patient’s record and click on either the Continued Care tab or Initial Care tab and scroll to the bottom of the record.
Step 3
WRMD’s default status of the patient is pending as it assumes the animal is being cared for. Use the drop-down menu to change that setting to whatever is relevant for your patient.
Step 4
Click in the textbox to pull up a drop-down calendar. Choose the date of disposition.
Step 5
If appropriate, type in the release or transfer location.
Step 6
If appropriate, type in the reason for disposition. (This field is most commonly used when euthanized).
Step 7
Type in who performed the disposition.
Step 8
If the animal is being transferred, you can choose the release type from the drop-down menu.
Step 9
If the animal is being released, you can choose how it was released from the drop-down menu.
Step 10
If you wish to indicate whether the patient was part of a criminal activity or if you saved the carcass for research, you can checkmark the boxes in this panel.
Step 11
When you have finished your update, click the green Update Patient button.
