Daily Exams
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use the Daily Exams Extension to record more exams on your patients.
About the Daily Exams Extension
The Daily Exams Extension allows you to record multiple exams for your patients. Exam forms are those which include specific assessment fields and can assist you in maintaining consistency during evaluations. You can perform three exam types: an intake exam, multiple daily exams, and a release exam. The exam form is identical to that which is under the Initial Care tab. However, since you are only allowed one Initial Care exam, this extension will give you the option to use this form for all daily check-ups as well as a release exam.
Activating the Daily Exams Extension
Note: Users with Admin or Super Admin status are able to access the Extension Features in Settings.
Step 1
Visit https://www.wrmd.org/signin and log into your account using the username and password that you registered with.
Step 2
Access your account settings. Click on the arrow next to your name in the top right corner and choose settings from the drop-down menu.
Step 3
On the left sidebar, click on All Extensions in the Extensions panel on the left side.
Step 4
Activate the Daily Exams Extension by clicking the Daily Exams Extension button. Once activated it will always be available until you deactivate it.
You will be able to access the Daily Exams Function through any Patient Record under the tab labeled Exams.
Using the Daily Exams Function
Step 1
Visit https://www.wrmd.org/signin and log into your account using the username and password that you registered with.
Step 2
Open the Patient Record of the animal that you will be examining.
Step 3
Click on the Exams tab.
Step 4
Under the Exams tab, all the exams you have completed will be listed. Click on the green Plus Sign to open a new exam form.
If you wish to edit any completed exam, click the pencil icon.
If you wish to delete exams, click the pink trash can icon.
In addition to being listed under the Exam Tab, examination information will also appear in the Patient’s Record under the Continued Care tab and Treatment Logs.
Step 5
On the New Exam page, choose the exam type from the drop-down menu and fill in the appropriate fields.
- Intake Exam: Only one intake exam can be performed. Once you have completed an intake exam, it will no longer be an option in the drop-down menu.
- Daily Exam: An unlimited number of daily exams can be performed.
- Release Exam: Only one release exam can be performed.
Step 6
Click on the green Save New Exam button.
Visualize Weight Gain or Loss
If you have recorded the weights of an animal during your exams and want a visual way to see the patient’s weight gain or loss over time in order to quickly determine the next treatment steps, you can use the Analytics Function in the patient record.
Step 1
Open the Patient Record of the animal that you will be examining.
Step 2
Click on the Analytics tab.
Step 3
Under this tab, you can easily see how the animal’s weight has progressed over time. This can help you to determine future treatment and care.
Step 4
To exit this page, click on any tab in the patient record.
