Patient Analytics

In this tutorial, you will gain a basic understanding about the Patient Analytics category.

Accessing Patient Analytics

Before accessing Patient Analytics, you should review the Navigating and Using Analytics tutorial. This will give you an overview of how to set date ranges and segment data into smaller groups than All Patients.

To access Patient Analytics click the arrow under Patients. There are three main sections with additional subsections you can choose from:

  • Overview
  • Patients by Taxa Categories
  • Demographics and Health Indicators
  • Taxonomy Tree Map

Overview of Patient Analytics

The Patient’s Overview section shows you simple graphs for the time period you have indicated. There are four main graphs in this section which can be enlarged by clicking on the relevant thumbnails.

  • Patients Admitted
  • Patients in Care
  • Patients by Class
  • Most Prevalent Species

In addition to the graphs, you can see additional information about your patients in a data table.

Patient by Taxa Category

Under the Taxa Category, you will see charts that show you the most prevalent species entering your center by common name or taxonomic class for the time periods you have indicated. To access more detailed data, you can click on the See Details button of the category you would like to see or click the relevant category from the dropdown menu.

On the detail page, you can see how many patients were admitted per day as well as a data table underneath which tells you how many patients were admitted, the number of species, their dispositions, and their survival rates.

Demographics and Health Indicators

There are also a number of analytics on Demographics and Health Indicators. In the Overview section, you will see graphs for the following topics:

  • Overview
  • Parallel Coordinate Health Indicators: For this graph, you must have only one species indicated, not All Patients.
  • Age
  • Sex
  • Weight
  • Attitude
  • Body Condition
  • Dehydration
  • Mucous Membrane

Like the previous section, to access more detailed data, click on the See Details button of the category you would like to see or click the relevant category from the dropdown menu. You will see the interactive chart as well as a detailed data table.

Parallel Coordinate Health Indicators Chart

Due to the nature of the Parallel Coordinate Health Indicators chart, it will only display data for one segment of patients. While you can indicate multiple segments, it cannot be All Patients.

Taxonomy Tree Map

The Taxonomy Tree Map is an interactive map that gives you an overview of the taxonomy of your patients. Clicking on the squares will zoom closer to the name in the box.
