Getting Around Your WRMD Dashboard
In this tutorial, you will learn how to find your way around the WRMD Dashboard, the first page you see when you sign in.
What is the Dashboard?
The Dashboard is your home base in WRMD. It is the first page you land on after signing in, and you can return to it at any time by clicking Dashboard at the top of the left sidebar. From here you can jump straight to your most common tasks, keep an eye on your patient numbers, and reach a few helpful outside resources.
Your Patients
The Your Patients panel gives you quick links to the things you do most often:
- Add New Patient – start admitting a new patient. (This link only appears if you have permission to create patients.)
- List Patients – view the full list of patients for the selected year.
- Search Patients – open the search page to find a specific patient. (This link only appears if you have permission to search patients.)
Exclusive Access
The Exclusive Access panel links to outside resources available to WRMD users. Each opens in a new browser tab:
- WRMD Knowledge Base – this collection of help articles.
- Birds of the World – a comprehensive ornithology reference.
Recent News
The Recent News panel lists the latest WRMD announcements and updates. Click any item to read more in a new tab.
Your Numbers at a Glance
Across the middle of the Dashboard are four summary cards that update automatically based on the year you are viewing:
- Patients This Year – the number of patients admitted this year, compared to last year.
- Patients This Week – patients admitted this week, compared to the same week last year.
- Species This Year – the number of distinct species admitted this year, compared to last year.
- Patients in Care Today – how many patients are currently in your care.
On the comparison cards, a green arrow means the number went up from the previous period, a red arrow means it went down, and a yellow dash means there was no change.
Total Patients Per Day
Below the summary cards is the Total Patients Per Day chart, which plots how many patients you admitted on each day of the selected year. You can zoom in on a date range and export the chart as an image or data file using the menu in the chart's corner.
Changing the Year
Everything on the Dashboard reflects a single year at a time. To change it, use the year selector at the top-left of the page header. When you are viewing a past year, the selector turns red as a reminder. Choosing a different year recalculates the summary cards and the Total Patients Per Day chart.
