What Is The Difference Between Save and Validate and Save?
This tutorial will explain the difference between the Save button and Validate and Save as well as explain when each should be used.
The reason for two different Save buttons is that you are unable to submit your event for validation until you have all of the data. If you are waiting on results in order to have all of the required data, you are still able to begin entering your event into the system by using only the Save button. This of the Save button as a "save draft" button.
Step 1:
When entering an event, the blue Save button allows you to save your progress but does not integrate your data into the system.
Step 2:
The carrot next to the blue Save button gives you the option to Save and Validate. Save and Validate checks your entered information against the requirements of the system and alerts you if there are any errors or discrepancies.
