Setting up Notifications to Receive Alerts
In this tutorial, you will learn how to set up notifications for alerts to anomalous events.
WildAlert sends two types of email notifications for each target:
- Summary Report — a recurring summary of activity for the target.
- Threshold Exceeded — sent when the case count for the target exceeds the calculated anomaly threshold.
You can subscribe yourself with one click using the Subscribe to Target button at the top of any target page. To control which members of your team receive these emails, open the Notifications tab on the target.

Step 1 — Subscribe yourself
On the target page, click the blue Subscribe to Target button in the upper-right corner of the page header. This subscribes your user to both summary and threshold-exceeded emails for the target.
Step 2 — Choose which team members receive emails
Open the Notifications tab on the target. You will see a list of every member of your team. For each member, check the box(es) next to their name to opt them in:
- Summary Report — they will receive the recurring summary email for this target.
- Threshold Exceeded — they will receive an email each time an anomaly is detected for this target.
Click the blue Save Notification Preferences button at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

When the threshold for one of your targets has been exceeded and a team member is opted in to threshold-exceeded notifications, that member will receive an automatic email (see example below).
