Navigating and Using Analytics
In this tutorial, you will gain a basic understanding of how to navigate and use the analytics section in WRMD.
Accessing the Analytics Section
You can access the Analytic Section through the Quick Links Menu. Just click the Analytics link.

Layout of the Analytics Section
The Analytics section is divided into five main categories, accessible via tabs at the top of the page. These categories provide different perspectives on patient data at your facility.
- Patients:
- Here, you can view an overall overview of your patients, or filter them by taxa categories, demographics, or health indicators using the dropdown menu.
- Location:
- This section allows you to see patient data based on where they were found or their current location within your facility.
- Disposition:
- Review the outcomes or next steps for patients after their care.
- Hotline:
- Access data regarding hotline incidents and call durations
The date is located in the upper right-hand corner. The Field for Segmenting Patients is located under tabs in the top left-hand corner. Both of these are adjustable so you can visualize whatever data you are looking for.
Setting the Time Range
By default, you will see analytics for patients admitted within the past seven days. However, you can modify or customize the dates. To do this, click on the arrow next to the date; then, from the drop-down menu, choose the date range and method of grouping data.

If you wish to compare the analytics to a previous time period, click the Compare to checkbox and choose the appropriate time period from the dropdown menu.
- Previous Period
- one month before the date originally chosen.
- Previous Year
- one year before the original date.
- Custom
- choose your range from the calendar option.

Once you click the Apply button, the dates will be set. From there, you can apply filters for the data you would like to see. You can always go back to this area and change or modify the dates as necessary.
Filtering Data on Patients
By default, WRMD's analytics display data for all admitted patients at your center, excluding voided cases. However, you have the flexibility to specify particular groups of species. For instance, you can narrow down analytics to focus solely on bird patients, animals from a specific town, those caught by a cat, or any other criteria you prefer. You can even add more segments to facilitate comparisons between species.
To apply filters, click the All Patients dropdown menu. From there, select the segments you wish to view. For example, if you're interested in viewing only bird data, choose 'Aves' under Taxonomic Class. This action will recalibrate your analytics, displaying information solely for Aves.
Furthermore, you can analyze data from multiple patient segments by selecting 'Add Segment' and specifying additional species or classifications.

Modifying your Filters on Patients
It is easy to adjust your settings once you have customized them. For instance, if you wish to remove a classification you have set, click All Patients to return to the default setting. To remove an added segment, click the arrow and choose Remove Segment from the drop-down menu.

Visualizing the Data
To access your Analytics, click on one of the hyperlinked categories and choose which data set you want to see from the dropdown menu.

The data itself is organized in interactive charts and graphs. By scrolling your mouse over the charts, you will see a pop-up of the specific data point you are looking at. Here is an example from the Patient’s Overview Category.

Underneath the interactive graphs is a spreadsheet of data containing additional information about your patients.

All the categories are organized in the same way, except for the Location Map segment under the Location/Map and Disposition Categories. For these analytics, you will see a map pinpointing the various locations your animal species have come from.

Printing and Downloading the Charts
You can print the charts, download them into various formats, or download the raw data behind each chart and use them in presentations, reports, or in any other way you want. To do this, click on the chart you wish to view. Then, click the hamburger icon in the upper right-hand corner of the chart. From the drop-down menu, choose whether to view the chart full screen, print it, or download the chart and/or data.
